Patrizia Kummer and Roland Fischnaller secure season's fourth win each in Moscow

MOSCOW, Russia (MAR 3) – Patrizia Kummer (SUI) and Roland Fischnaller (ITA) have won the season's fifth and thus last parallel slalom of the 2012 LG Snowboard FIS World Cup, which took place as a ramp event right in the middle of Moscow, Russia, today.

In the ninth parallel race of this winter, the new women's World Cup leader from Switzerland (5,040 points), Patrizia Kummer, edged off her rival in the finals, Julia Dujmovits (AUT), to the runner-up position. Julie Zogg (SUI) came in third ahead of Marion Kreiner (AUT).

On the men's side, last years Moscow winner Roland Fischnaller also took over the World Cup lead (5,690) due to his season's fourth win. Simon Schoch (SUI) and Andreas Prommegger (AUT) rounded out the podium as second and third respectively. Kaspar Fluetsch (SUI) missed the podium as fourth.

The LG Snowboard FIS World Cup continues with a parallel giant slalom in La Molina, Spain, on March 10th.

Quotes

Patrizia Kummer (SUI): After four wins I guess it would be nice to have an extra World Cup title for the parallel slalom discipline.

I don't know why, but it's just turning out well for me. I just ride and keep on doing well. I don't think too much at the moment, so I reckon that helps a lot.

In the beginning of the season, it was my goal to finish in the top 10 of the Parallel World Cup ranking. I don't think about the title. If it happens, it happens.

Roland Fischnaller (ITA): I had to settle a score with this ramp. Two years ago I slightly touched a gate and was unfortunately out of the race.

I set myself under high pressure as I wanted to do well here in Moscow. I settled the score and that makes me very proud.

I put a lot of energy into this race so I don't know if there is any left for the last races and thus the duel for the Crystal Globe. I just take it from race to race.
