Remarkables Rampage

By Press Release

Monday, 7 August 2006

Freestylers go on the rampage for F.I.S. points at The Remarkables this weekend with two F.I.S. rated events.

The Remarkables Rampage kicks off in the Parklife Superpipe on Saturday (August 12) with a halfpipe event expected to attract most of New Zealand’s top riders as well as a line up of visiting international riders.

The competition continues on Sunday (August 13) with athletes heading into the UP & GO Terrain Park to display their skills in the BoarderX.

Youth Action Sports Co-ordinator for The Remarkables Josh Clark says each event provides exciting spectator action.

“It’s amazing to watch really skilled athletes throw their tricks in the halfpipe and the BoarderX is an exciting and fast paced event where 4 riders at a time go head to head simultaneously through the same terrain features.

“We’re expecting a massive display of riding as athletes work to build their F.I.S. points tally. It’s an international level competition and it will be fantastic to see the Parklife Superpipe and UP & GO Terrain Park used to their full potential.”

For those entering this weekend’s competition, registration is $40 per event or $70 for both events along with a $20 fully refundable bib deposit.

Pre registration by emailing admin@theremarkables.co.nz is advised to secure a spot. Alternatively, you can register on the day between 9:00am and 10:00am.

Presented by Parklife, the event is also sponsored by DB Export and Red Bull.
