The Sprite Sessions have kicked off in Thredbo - Rail Comp Results Day 1

By Press Release

Tuesday, 8 August 2006

The Sprite Sessions kicked off in Thredbo yesterday with the Sprite Rails event, one of the most impressive freestyling competitions to be held at the resort so far. It was a massive day for the record 161 competitors, qualifying started at 10:30 in the morning with 45 jibbers sliding their way to the finals. The jam session format was held under lights at Friday Flat.

The Thredbo Terrain Park Crew shaped an awesome set up which included a huge take off onto either an 8 metre up-bar or 8 metre down-bar with a 3 metre table top in between.

Olympic snowboarder Damon Hayler took out the men’s snowboarding division while Ali Deane was champion in the women’s.

Weather conditions were also sensational. There wasn’t a cloud to be seen during the day, just plenty of sunshine and then it was clear skies at night for the finals.
