Freestyle riders and skiers line up for season’s third Cadbury Moro Slopestyle

By Press Release

Tuesday, 12 September 2006

The third of four competitions in The Cadbury Moro Slopestyle Series took place in the Up & Go Terrain Park at The Remarkables today (Monday 11 September).

Beautiful day with nice soft snow on a newly reshaped slopestyle course attracted over 50 freestyle riders and skiers to the event.

The Remarkables Slopestyle Series is a major factor in determining the New Zealand Snowboard Association (NZSBSA) rider ranking for Slopestyle in New Zealand.

Judges named Nick Hyne from Queenstown (Parklife Team rider) as the top rider in the Open Male Snowboard division earning prizes from Flow, Protec, Bakoda and ICA for his efforts.

Jossi Wells from Wanaka took first place in the Open Male Ski division and Anais Cettov from Queenstown in the Open Female Snowboard section. David Cockburn from Queenstown won Junior male snowboard and Matt Soundy from also from Queenstown took out Junior male ski.

Josh Clark, Youth Action Sports Co-ordinator at The Remarkables says he is very happy with how the day went, BBQ, wicked tunes from the Red Bull hummer and people ripping up the Up and Go terrain park made for a wicked day in the sun.

“Fun in the sun and wicked snow conditions.”
