Martin Sandberg(SWE) Wins in Austria - 3(three) TTR Event Absolut Park Spring Battle


Flachauwinkl/Salzburger Land, AUSTRIA – More than 60 riders celebrated the end of the ‘Absolut Park Serie’ and with it this seasons last TTR event in Austria.  The 3(three) Star Absolut Park Spring Battle, held in pristine conditions saw Martin Sandberg (SWE) take first place earning 550 TTR Championships points and with it fending off a tough battle from Steve Gruber(AUT) who took second with Matevz Pristavez(SLO) securing third.

The event commenced last Friday with 16 of the pre-qualifiers heading into the 32 man finals. Spring like conditions greeted the both event organizers and competitors on Saturday, making for an early start to be beat the heat before melting terrain would affect results. The ‘Pool,’ obstacle built at the end of an incredible challenging course pushed performances, squeezing the last fresh juice out of a long season and delivering some of the tours best yet performance, all to the appreciation of a 500 strong crowd.  Two heats of 16 riders, cut down to 11 for the Super-finals was the receipt of the show with Reini Rieser(AUT), Flo Mauser(AUT), Erwin Polanc(AUT) showing exceptional end of season form!
