Well what a killer start to Falls this year, after the "what snow?" on
opening weekend, the following weekend had massive snowfalls that had the whole
mountain covered with over 75cm of fresh. We now have over a
meter base and every run is open.
Falls have a huge line up of events this season with the Fructis Comp being huge and much bigger prize money on offer. The Burton team will coming down for the competition, and Ross Powers will be competing in the half pipe. Events to look out for - Style Wars will once again be hosted by Falls in September with overseas and Australia's finest skiers and snowboarders styling it up.
Speaking of half pipe, Falls will have the super pipe in the same location as last year, situated at the top of the Summit chair. The Terrain Park will again be under Ruined Castle with even more area than last year. Expect some serious booters, boxes and gnarly street rails set up this season. The Terrain Park crew has added Tom Costa, local skier ripper, and Jason C and Rueben, representing the boarders.
Clive Dickerson has started up a new snowboarding company call Fyve snowboards, and will be hitting stores in '05. Clive has also left the Air & Style program, and Drew Gibson has taken up the challenge. On the entertainment front, Big cup is on at the Man every Monday and all the big bands will be playing with the Hoax as a regular feature throughout the season. The Frying Pan has Miss Falls Creek every Saturday night sponsored by Cougar, with local hotties and punters strutting their stuff for a trip to Broome. Fryers are also doing a bucket of fresh prawns and a Jug of beer for under $20. It's a bargain for all you tight wads.
Falls Creek is offering as much fun as a threesome, so we'll see you up there.
