HEAVENLY HOTHAM SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL HERALDS THE OPENING OF HOTHAM'S FAMED HEAVENLY VALLEY
Friday, 3 July 2009
Hotham’s 2009 winter season has just moved up a gear with the resort’s signature terrain, Heavenly Valley, due to open tomorrow following 47cm of fresh snowfall
in the past 48 hours.
Hotham Alpine Resort now has a natural snowdepth of 58cm. Snowflakes are still falling and forecast to continue through until Sunday. As of tomorrow, Saturday 4 July,
7 of Hotham’s 13 lifts will be operating across the mountain, with more set to open as the snowfall continues.
“We are very pleased to be opening our signature terrain, Heavenly Valley, tomorrow, ready for the school holiday guests to enjoy. It is terrific to be able to offer a comprehensive range of skiing and boarding for visitors of all abilities, including some of the best black diamond terrain in the country,” says Belinda Trembath, General Manager, Mount Hotham Skiing Company.
The Heavenly Valley chairlift will open from Wednesday to Sunday for the rest of the season (snow and weather permitting) with FREE first tracks available from 7.30am (with a valid lift pass).
Servicing a variety of runs in an extremely scenic position, Heavenly Valley is considered to be the pinnacle of skiing at Hotham. The quality and diversity of challenging terrain around the Heavenly Chairlift is, quite simply, heavenly! Complemented by other lifts such as Playground, Roadrunner and the Drift, Hotham currently offers an extremely varied skiing experience.
Day lift passes are $97 for adults, $82 for youth and $49 for children.
So pack your bags, jump in the car or coach, or fly into Hotham Airport with QantasLink from Sydney or a charter operator from Melbourne and make fresh turns at Hotham this week.
